Sesame milk is a very nutritious alkaline beverage. It has vitamin B and calcium to help mothers who are breastfeeding to produce milk, since it lowers stress levels in mothers. And that is beneficial to increase milk production.

The calmer the mother, the more efficiently the mammary veins work. Many mothers I had the pleasure of meeting benefited greatly from this recipe, helping them increase their milk. At the same time, it helps the baby stay calm. And when the baby drinks the breast milk, it is satisfied faster. Sesame milk is actually good for everyone, as you will see below.

Properties of sesame:

This important oilseed contains many ingredients needed for a healthy diet. It is recommended to be consumed as ground sesame when it has been hulled (the outer layer removed) or slightly roasted if in the shell.

It has 85% of unsaturated fatty acids that help to dissolve bad cholesterol. It is also rich in calcium. In 100 grams of sesame, there can be up to a 1500 mg (1.5 g) of easy absorbable calcium surpassing milk, which provides only 120 mg.

Sesame also contains iron, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc, which helps prevent male infertility. It has 22% protein, rich in essential amino acids. It carries lecithin — a great nutrient for brain cells and optic nerves. For its high content of calcium, it is recommended to be consumed during pregnancy and menopause, and to fight osteoporosis.

This ingredient is a nutritional supplement with many vitamins, and high in vitamin B. It is also refreshing and low in calories, since sesame milk is made only with water and sweetened with brown sugar, beet sugar or other natural sugar. It’s very easy to make. See recipe below.

Servings: 20

Ingredients:

• 1 pound sesame seeds
• 1 / 2 cup brown sugar or beet sugar or the sugar of your choice
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons vanilla
• 1 gallon of filtered water

Procedure:

1 – In a non-stick saucepan dry cook the sesame seeds until golden.
2 – Then pour the seeds into a blender and slowly add the water, cinnamon, vanilla and sugar.
3 – Mix at high speed in the blender and add more water if it turns into a heavy cream.
4 – Then strain it.
5 – Pour into a plastic container.
6 – What is left in the strainer throw back into the blender and add more water and repeat the same procedure since the seeds have many nutritional values and there is still more milk to get out.

Buen provecho!

Tips & Notes:

  • You can drink it cold with ice or hot.
  • The pulp that is left you can use as a fertilizer for plants; other people use it to make sesame sweet treats.
  • Consult your doctor before starting or introducing a new food.
