Margarita Persico, Food and Health Content Director, the founder and publisher of The Healthy Dish, is an investigative, social media, and multimedia journalist passionate about what makes the world tick. She is an independent journalist, copy editor, researcher, media producer who also has been blogging for years. She is a nonprofit communicator, Foodista, writer, blogger, photographer, certified raw food health educator, gluten-free living and recipe developer for over 20 years, world traveler, a student of many things, sometimes teacher or speaker, fully bilingual (Spanish and English with basic working knowledge of Portuguese). Margarita, a journalist with a master’s in liberal arts degree, has published articles — mostly about health — in newspapers, magazines, nonprofit and corporate newsletters in the U.S. and Costa Rica. Before becoming a journalist in 2007, she worked for over a decade as a computer system analyst. She is an avid Toastmaster and VP of Public Relations for a Toastmaster’s group in Boston, MA. She has also held responsibilities as liaison to the senior management team. She is originally from NYC, she lived in Puerto Rico for 12 years, also lived in Brazil and Costa Rica. She is a wife, and friend, aunt and cousin to many.
